As of NHC advisory 1 (Oct 6 21:00 UTC), Tropical Depression Nine was centered near 22.1°N 95.6°W, about 140 miles (230 km) NE of Túxpam de Rodríguez Cano, Mexico. Maximum sustained winds were 35 mph (55 km/h), making it a tropical depression, with a minimum central pressure of 1007 mb. It was moving E at 5 mph (7 km/h).

  1. 01There is an increasing risk of dangerous wind and storm surge impacts along portions of the northern Gulf Coast, and watches could be required on Wednesday.
